Nokia Deploys Java Client Technology in Mobile Campaign

Java-Based Mobile Marketing Becomes Mainstream Tool

Nokia has joined European companies 12snap AG and Ferrero to provide the mobile marketing component for  a multi-channel marketing strategy that reaches German soccer fans.

A code on the back of pictures found in selected products can be sent via SMS to order the digital Collector's Album and additional DFB football pictures. Initially the digital Collector's Album is installed on the mobile phone through a WAP push link (an SMS sent back to the requester's mobile phone with a link that when clicked upon, will download the album and pictures ordered onto that particular phone).

"This Collector's Album demonstrates the abilities of our innovative Java client technology and it shows what, creatively speaking, can be done with a mobile phone," said a Ferraro representative. The campaign comes in the wake of the recently completed World Cup, which was held throughout Germany and generated high levels excitement among local fans.
